Learn what it means to have faith like the martyrs this Lent!
Each of the 40 days of Lent The Catholic Sprouts Podcast will be talking about a different Catholic Martyr, a true hero who was willing to die rather than deny their faith in Jesus Christ. Tune in each day and use this digital download to reflect more completely on these incredible stories of faith.
Lent with the Martyrs Digital Download is a great way to journey through Lent and count down the days to the Resurrection. After your purchase, you will receive a 9-page PDF that has everything you need for this Lenten activity in your home or classroom. Print the PDF in color and follow the instructions provided to create a chain with 40 links. We will also provide a printable prayer which we will recite at the top of each podcast episode. Each day you will remove one link from the chain and then tune into the Catholic Sprouts Podcast to hear the story of that heroic martyr.
Lent with the Martyrs grew out of the popular devotion, St. Peter’s Chains. Like many other martyrs, St. Peter wore chains before he was killed for the Faith. Therefore, chains are a powerful symbol for us to reflect on during Lent. Not only will we strive to have the Faith of the Martyrs, but we will pray that our chains of sin can be loosed through our Lenten penances. After all, as we read in the Acts of the Apostles, one night, not long before he died a martyr, God sent an angel to remove St. Peter’s chains and help him escape. May He do the same for us so we might be free from sin and able to love Him as we ought!
Finally, purchasing Lent with the Martyrs Digital Download is a great way to support the Catholic Sprouts Podcast. This Podcast is a labor of love, but it does require real time and money to keep it going. If you and the others who listen to the Catholic Sprouts Podcast regularly contributed to the podcast through this small purchase, it would make a big impact and allow us to do even more to serve Catholic kids and their families.
Thank you--and may we all have the Faith of the Martyrs!
